Amy's Creative Side is hosting yet another Blogger's Quilt Festival. This will be my seventh time entering this festival.

"Midnight Glow" is a sister quilt to "Falling in Love". This quilt consists mainly of grays and blacks. The original title for this quilt was "Falling Out of Love". A friend of ours was going through a divorce. This quilt was to reflect the feeling of falling out of love. The darkness and the sadness she was going through. Yet, in the middle of the quilt, the color transitions to a lighter gray. This is to symbolize that she will be able to weather through the storm. Hubby said the title "Falling Out of Love" would provoke negative feelings, thus came the title "Midnight Glow".

Below is the process of making the blocks. First came cutting the fabric into 3 inch squares.

Then stacking wrong sides together and marking the lines.

Next came chain piecing the pieces together.

After having many pieces of squares, I laid them out on the floor.

Below is the final layout.

Then I stacked up each row onto the rotary mat and cardboard and labeled the rows. I placed rulers and wood on top of them so that it would not get accidently knocked off by someone walking by.

After five months, Midnight Glow was born. This quilt is dedicated to our friend who is going through a tough time. She will persevere through this event.
