Here is a "jacket" that I made after taking a class last fall.

The base or foundation of the jacket is a sweat shirt. I happened to have bought a "raglin" pink sweatshirt, which meant that I did not really have to custom fit the jacket as some of the other students had to.
I lengthen the jacket by about 8 inches, because after washing the sweatshirt, it shrank about 2 inches. I also lengthen the sleeves by 4 inches, because that shrank also, and I prefer long sleeves to be on the longer side.
It is quite an easy process. The key is to have the patience to quilt. It will be quite a while until I make another one.
