Quilt Show :: Rhododendron Needlers Quilt Guild 2011

March 20 2011,

Yesterday I went to the Rhododendron Needlers Quilt Guild Quilt Show. There were so many spectacular quilts on display. As always, these pictures do not give justice to the quilts.

Below is "The Supper Quilt", that was on special exhibition by Dr. Locke, a dentist. What's special about this quilt is that it contains so many little pieces of fabric pieced together to make this spectacular quilt. You can see the full image of the quilt at Dr. Locke's website. I forgot to take a whole picture of the quilt.

The below, "Nina's Quilt" consisted of 300 baskets which were appliqued (by hand) on to the background fabric. What patience!

I love applique flowers, the attention to detail, the choices of colors and fabrics, creates a quilt that is so delicate and beautiful.

This quilt below is magnificant. This pattern was from a book called Edyta Sitar. Isn't it beautiful? The flowers are all appliqued by hand onto the fabric. This quilt measure 56" by 71". I love the colors that this quilter has chosen.

This is one below created by MaryJo McLaughlin is another stunning piece. This is done with paper pieceing from a pattern call "Lady Liberty". For those of you who are not familiar with the pattern, it is call "Lady Liberty" because of the resemblance of the spikes on the Statue of Liberty's crown. I took a class a while ago, and I did not manage to even make one block. It is hard and requires a lot of skill which I do not have.

I must try to get some photos from the County Fair this year. They have some ridiculous quilts!

Hi Redeeming myself - thanks for stopping by and saying hello. Just like any hobby, Quilting and pool are almost alike, it takes years to master with many ups and downs.
