"The Birdcage is Still There!"

July 30 2011,

Yesterday afternoon we were visited by two sisters and the daughter of one of the sister's, who had grew up in our house many moons ago. They were driving around and stopped on the side of the house as we were pulling into the garage. They stopped us and asked us if we lived in that house, and we said yes.

We proceeded to invite them in. They told us that both of them frequently have dreams about sneaking around the house at night trying to look in the house to see what has changed. Hopefully now that they have seen the house, they will not have the nightmares.

As we toured the outside, the younger sister said, "The birdcage I made is still there!". I had wanted to take it down, but hubby said just leave it, so it sits on a branch of our magnolia tree untouched.

Next we visited our next door neighbor (the one with the yellow house) and all of us chatted for an hour or so.

I feel it is nice for past owners, especially children who had lived in a house to come back and see the transformation that has occurred after the house was sold. They kept on saying, "our house", and kept on apologises realizing that it was no longer their house. But to them, it will always be their house.

It could, but what would the drama be?
