September 20 2011,
I must confess, I am a television junkie. Most of the time, I don't watch anything specific, I enjoy having the noise in the background.
In our house, we had three T.V.'s. One in the living room, one in the basement / game room, and one in the office / study.
This past weekend, we redecorated the office. After figuring out how to read the compass, we realized that I was sitting facing Southwest in the office which is a no-no according to my Kua number. What that means was we had to turn my sitting position 30 - 40 degrees to the left to face South.
Here comes the dilemma. The only spot in the room that the television could be located was in the South corner of the room. So there goes the T.V.
The T.V. is not a flat screen so it juts out 23 inches from the corner, and since I am now sitting in that corner, the T.V. could not be there, and there was no other spot to put a monster in the room. We could have fished out $400+ for a flat screen television and a fancy wall mount, but it would still be awkward.
Being a T.V. junkie, what was I to do? Get rid of the cable box and television and sign up for Hulu. So far, Hulu has been great, I get to try it for one month for free and then it is $7.99 per month. Now I can watch all those Law + Order SVU that I missed on T.V.
The graphical user interface (GUI) is easy to navigate. So far I have no complaints because of the low cost per month, hopefully they don't pull a Netflix.
Now my desk is setup with three monitors, one dedicated to Hulu, and the other two for regular work. Now I have to figure out what to do about watching baseball games online. Next year, I may just have to fish out an extra $10.00 per year for MLB.TV.

hulu sounds like a good option, especially with netflix going crazy with their prices.
I agree - but I miss the surfing on the t.v. a lot.
