Show + Tell :: Star Bed Quilt + Food Porn

January 29, 2010

A few nights a ago, we had steak with Ortega's Black Beans & Rice Mix and glazed onions. The steak we used was a Sirlion Bonessless Tips. The steak was marinated with 2 to 3 tablespoon of vegetable oil and two to three limes, depending on how limey you want it to be. Marinate the steak for a minimum of 24 hours. The longer you marinate it, the more limey the steak taste.

Since we currently don't have an out door grill, we grilled the steak on the Foreman grill. I believe hubby grills it just under three minutes per side. We prefer the steak medium rare, but more on the rare side.

The onions was done with one whole onion and one tablespoon of butter. Heat the butter till it has melted, and turn the stove heat to medium and put in the chopped onions. Cook for 15 minutes or so and then throw in a dash of salt. Continue cooking for an additional 5 minutes.

On to my quilts.
This is the latest quilt, another wobbly star quilt. It is a queen size quilt. The fabrics as always is batik. The background fabric of the star is a mystical character that is playing a flute. I am blanking on the name of it.

I think that'll the last of my bed quilts for some time. I am packing away my sewing machine and focusing on my hand work quilts.
