Flooded

Crap. Crap. Crap.

Our basement got flooded. We did not notice it till 1:00 this afternoon. There was approximately 3 - 4 inches of water by the time we noticed it. Yes, we do have a sump pump, but we did not plug it in because it was at an awkward area, the contractor did not think about this issue when he designed the "cover" for it.

Hubby's pissed and thinks we need to replace the 15 x 20 rug under the pool table and the padding.

So for the past 4 hours, I've been wet vac-ing the carpet, putting fans around the area.

Luckily a friend called at 10:00 tonight and needed computer help. She asked how we were doing. I told her about our situation and she gave us a number of a guy who cleans basement after it floods. This guy is guaranteeing that there will not be any mold after he is done. We shall see.

Ironically, earlier in the day, hubby had said something along the lines that we weren't having as much rain as he had expected. A few hours later... ka bam.
