'Nuf Said :: Wasted Resources

September 5 2018,

Our tonneau started warping after less then a year of use. A tonneau cover covers the bed of the truck. The one we bought is not totally water proof, but will keep most of the rain out of the bed. It is a removable cover for the bed.

The warpage is on the left side of the bed.

I brought hubby on Friday at 4:00 pm to the Honda dealership, it was still under warranty. We went to the service desk and said that we needed to warranty it.

The guy didn't know what to do, and said that we should go to parts. We told him that we had just  came from the parts department and the guy told us to go to service. Luckily there was another guy there who knew what to do. The other guy told this guy to do XYZ paperwork, something like "R/O".

So our guy said, you need to make an appointment with service to take a look at the cover.

I said, "Great, can you do it now?"

He said, "No."

I said, "How about Monday first thing?"

He said, "We open at 7:30 AM. Is that ok?"

I said, "I will see you on Monday at 7:30 AM."

Comes Monday morning. I drive to the dealership.

I check in - the guy takes the vitals of the truck. It gets driven off, and he walks in.

He does some paperwork, and 3 minutes later he said, "We have one in our warehouse, and you have to come back later to pick it up. Is this the best number to call you at?"

WTF.

This could all have happened on Friday. He could have ordered the part on Friday and I could have picked it up sometime Monday. Instead of having to visit the dealership twice, which would have been the smart thing to do, I visited it three times. I wasted an extra 10 miles of mileage and fuel, and wasted 45 minutes of my time (driving and then blogging about this incident). Umph.

Inefficiency! Can't fix stupidity.
