I was on the phone the other day with my MIL. She starts talking about art. After talking for about 10 minutes, she says, "Oh, Laura (our niece, her granddaughter) is now the artist in the family... I hope she makes..."
The sentence stopped me in my track.
If we dissect the first part of the sentence, "Oh, Laura is now the artist in the family...". Either quilts are not considered artistic, or I'm not part of the family. Either, or, the statement stopped me in my track.
